A new morning has dawned on Starehe.  As a prelude of the great  things to come light has begun to shine on different areas within starehe. For instance:

SPORTS

In sports the youth  have had the privilege to be sponsored with tournaments  new uniforms and balls.  The women were not sidelined, they too had their share.  These tournaments pave way to promote peace, awareness HIV and Aids awareness and many more.

SELF HELP GROUPS

Registered self help groups received support to enable them reach out to the society e.g  the entertainment groups in Kiamaiko received drums, women groups received uniforms, garbage collection groups received the necessary equipments for manpower i.e. rakes, wheelbarrows, gumboots, overalls etc.

FEEDING PROGRAMMES

Charitable Organizations like Children's' Homes received clothes and food stuffs to enable them to live a better lives.  These homes include Little Bees, Orphaned children in Mathare and the rehabilitated street children.  The feeding went as broad as feeding the post-election violence victims that were displaced.

FEES BURSARIES

Several students benefited  from bursaries all over Starehe with Kosovo leading  in the number of students due to the demanding situation on the ground because it is a slum area.
